Conversion practices are abuse and should not be legal. I am delighted to see the Government commit to banning these barbaric practices in the King’s Speech.
I recently met with Minister, Olivia Bailey MP, to speak about this. This is an issue I have been working closely with her on and is something I will keep pushing to be delivered asap.
The Labour Party has a proud tradition of championing and progressing LGBT+ rights. From scrapping the Tory’s vile Section 28 prohibition, creating the EHRC to enforce our laws on equality, implementing the Gender Recognition Act, and Labour MPs strong support for same sex marriage, Labour has a proud history on equality.
